Acne

Acne is a common skin condition that usually starts during puberty with hormonal changes that affects the sebaceous(oil producing)glands. This causes the glands to produces more sebum(oil) blocking the pores resulting in blackheads and whiteheads. The lining of the pores can be thickened with a build up of cells and oil, creating an optimal environment for the bacteria to thrive. This causes skin inflammation with formation of cysts and pustules.
